A laboratory with clean rooms for a medical industry specialist

Thanks to this plant, built by GSE Italia in 2017, Sister, a division of the Fresenius Medical Care group engaged in the design and production of medical devices for the treatment of haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, was able to initiate a process of gradual transformation and renewal.

The project was developed within a portion of the Sister plant and consisted in the transformation of an existing warehouse in production departments with large cleanroom with controlled contamination, ISO 8 certified. GSE adapted the supporting structure to the seismic regulations, carrying out targeted interventions for the demolition of industrial floors and the construction of foundation piles to support a prefabricated slab of new construction. In addition, the team built a new 1.5 MW transformer cabin powering the new production departments.

The mechanical systems inside the building control humidity, temperature and particle degree through absolute filters guaranteeing numerous air changes, and the production department is equipped with pharmaceutical-type walls, ceilings and false ceilings, which allow the necessary sanitization and cleaning.
